The Secret to Design Success: The Sukari Process

The residential design process is an important part of creating a comfortable and beautiful living space – a space you want to spend your time in for many years to come. During the design process we must take into consideration a variety of factors, from the desired aesthetic to the practical considerations of space and budget.

To ensure a successful design outcome, we have crafted a process which we know leads to design success across a variety of project styles and scopes. Using our proven design process, we create bespoke designs tailored to our clients’ needs. Below is an overview of our process for each of our unique projects utilising our tried and proven processes to achieve design success.

The Sukari Process

Stage 1: Initial Consultation and Proposal

As part of our consultation, we focus on determining the design direction and practical requirements of your project. It is important for us to explain the services we offer to you, alongside providing examples of the process and documentation package. Our design proposal also includes a fee schedule that we will submit to you for your approval as part of the design proposal. Here we lay the foundation and expectations of the project to safeguard the design process allowing your project to reach its true potential.

Stage 2: Concept Design and Presentation

As a result of working with you to develop a design brief, we begin the task of researching schematic concepts, including the materials, fixtures, finishes, lighting, and furnishings that will be used. During this stage, we will be able to outline the overall concept of the project and make sure that your vision and ours are aligned in terms of the overall goals of the project. As soon as our concept design has been developed, it will be presented to you for your comments and may be amended if necessary.

Stage 3: Design Development, Documentation Package and Presentation

Arguably the most exciting phase, this is where our combined vision comes to life. We will review floor plans to incorporate the design intent, liaise with trades and consultants, and conduct supplier visits for the selection of fittings, fixtures and materials. While there are several steps during this process, to ensure we are on the same page, we will organise a meeting to walk you through the documentation and present samples of the final selections of fixtures and finishes.

Stage 4: Construction and Review of Construction Progress

The design management stage is when we conduct site visits and or meetings with the consultant to ensure that the design is accurately executed onsite. We remain on-hand to liaise with building professionals throughout the process. It is our goal to do everything in our power to see your vision come to life in line with our designs.

Stage 5: Furniture and Accessory Selection and Order Placement

It is here that we select and confirm the furniture, fabric, and accessories that will be used in the space. We will take care of all orders for products purchased through Sukari Design, including delivery schedules and outstanding invoices to ensure that the process goes smoothly and in a timely manner.

Stage 6: Furniture Installation, Styling and Client Reveal

Unique to Sukari, is the turnkey design service we provide. The key focus of Sukari Design is to offer a complete design and styling service. All furnishings ordered through us are received by our team, and then styled along with the other furnishings at the project location. We provide a styling package in which we source the rest of the accessories needed for the project to be completed. We will include decorative accents, throws, books, side tables, and decorator items in our styling items. In our experience, giving you a glimpse of how your home has changed once the installation has taken place is the most rewarding phase. During the tour, we will offer you the chance to look at any products that might be relevant to your needs and demonstrate them as well.
