As the city buzzed with design enthusiasts from around the world, we had the pleasure of exploring some of the most stunning galleries, soaking in the year’s hottest trends, and discovering hidden culinary gems along the way. From avant-garde installations to timeless Parisian elegance, this year’s showcase offered a fresh perspective on design across all disciplines. The Invisible Collection at Feau Boiseries
Invisible Collection is where design seamlessly meets art. One of our “go to” suppliers, they embody a bold sense of style, a refined taste for design, and an expert eye for curation, bringing together the finest talents in interior design and craftsmanship. By showcasing their unique pieces amongst the wood panelling decors of Feau Boiseries, we had the honour of witnessing a perfect marriage of of old-world whimsy with the most avant-garde furniture. This prestigious firm, not normally open to the public, designs, adapts, produces, and installs wood-panelling decors inspired by iconic architects from the 17th century to the present day.
Atelier Alain Ellouz
The Alchemist of stone and light, Atelier Alain Ellouz’s alabaster light fixtures are a harmonious blend of uniqueness and poetry. They unveil the rich vibrancy hidden within the stone, allowing light to transform its essence. These creations are captivating, elevating natural materials into mesmerizing art forms. As true tributes to nature, space, and time, they invite contemplation while enhancing the beauty of any interior.
Jane Puylagarde
Meeting this amazing artist and watching her work was one of the highlights of our trip. Breaking away from the traditional paintbrush, Jane developed a unique technique, applying paint to the canvas using the tips of her hairpins. Each droplet is meticulously crafted, layer by layer, like a tiny architectural structure made from acrylic paint. Some droplets consist of up to twenty layers. She works on canvases laid flat, which are later mounted onto custom-made frames.
2024 Trends
At Paris Design Week 2024, one of the most striking trends was the celebration of organic shapes and materials. Designers drew heavily from nature, using raw, unrefined elements like stone, wood, and clay to create a tactile connection to the environment. Alabaster lighting, earthy textures, and furniture with soft, flowing lines echoed a desire to bring the outside in. This year’s designs emphasized sustainability, with many brands showcasing pieces crafted from recycled materials or designed for longevity, making aesthetics and eco-consciousness harmonious companions.
Another major trend was the use of bold, sculptural lighting as the centrepiece of interior spaces. Rather than simply serving a functional purpose, lighting was elevated to an art form, with oversized, dramatic fixtures dominating showrooms. Designers experimented with light as a medium itself, playing with transparency, reflection, and shadow to create immersive atmospheres. Pieces made from alabaster, glass, and even paper explored the interaction between light and space, adding an ethereal dimension to contemporary interiors.
Minimalist elegance also took centre stage, with monochromatic palettes and streamlined forms dominating many collections. While minimalist design has been a staple in recent years, 2024 brought a new focus on luxurious minimalism—spaces that feel refined and pared back but still rich in texture and detail. Designers played with contrasts, balancing sleek materials like metal and marble with softer elements like plush textiles or natural fibres.
Culinary Experiences
Lou Lou Paris: Lou Lou Restaurant in Paris offers an exquisite dining experience that blends refined Italian cuisine with a chic, sophisticated atmosphere. Located within the iconic Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the restaurant boasts elegant interiors that reflect Parisian glamour, with plush seating, tasteful decor, and large windows framing views of the Eiffel Tower and Tuileries Garden. The menu, crafted with precision and creativity, features classic Italian dishes reimagined with modern flair.
Ralph’s: Ralph’s in Saint Germain, located within the Ralph Lauren flagship store, exudes an upscale yet cozy American charm. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate, with a blend of vintage Americana and Parisian sophistication, featuring leather banquettes, antique furniture, and a beautiful courtyard for al fresco dining. The menu offers classic American fare with a gourmet twist, including premium steaks, fresh seafood, and Ralph Lauren’s signature burgers. The focus on high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation makes each dish feel luxurious, while the warm, inviting setting transports guests to a refined version of an American country estate.
Girafe Paris: Girafe Restaurant in Paris offers a glamorous dining experience with an unparalleled view of the Eiffel Tower from its Art Deco-inspired setting in the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine. The atmosphere is chic and refined, with a blend of sleek marble, soft velvet seating, and golden accents that create a luxurious yet comfortable vibe. The menu focuses on fresh seafood, featuring impeccably prepared dishes like oysters, lobster, and grilled fish, all with a modern, French twist.
